Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic distribution center team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role offers opportunities to work with various warehouse management systems and equipment, contributing to efficient supply chain processes. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued for this position.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and move inventory safely and efficiently
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Utilize warehouse management systems like AS400 for inventory tracking and documentation
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock and maintaining a clean work environment
- Load and unload materials using appropriate heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in construction or assembly tasks as needed for warehouse setup or modifications
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, especially with warehouse management systems such as AS400
- Experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or construction can be beneficial
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment, and inventory management systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely for extended periods
- Construction or industrial experience can enhance understanding of warehouse operations
- Prior experience with order picking, loading/unloading, and packaging tasks is advantageous
