Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assurance Accountant / Audit Senior to join our team. In this role, you will lead and execute audit engagements, assess financial statements, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help clients strengthen their internal controls, manage risks effectively, and achieve their financial objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects within the daycare industry, NPOs and privately held companies throughout Ontario, contributing to high-quality assurance services that make a real impact.
Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and perform audit engagements for clients across various industries, with a focus on financial services
- Evaluate internal controls and risk management processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance
- Conduct detailed testing of financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation using advanced accounting software tools
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas of concern
- Assist in executing internal audits to assess operational efficiency and adherence to company policies
- Collaborate with clients’ management teams to communicate audit results and suggest practical solutions for process enhancements
- Stay updated on industry regulations, accounting standards, and best practices to maintain high-quality service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in auditing within the financial services industry or related sectors
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and internal control frameworks
- Proficiency in accounting software and data analysis tools to facilitate thorough audits
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for clear reporting and client interaction
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Qualification
- Indian CA, CA (Inter), CPA or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.
- Practical experience in audit and assurance engagements strongly preferred.
- Experience with small and private-company audits/reviews is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting and assurance standards is an advantage.
