We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our Ontario warehouse operations and help build a best-in-class distribution team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse operations while supporting Dryco's continued growth.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities including receiving, inventory control, order picking, loading, shipping, equipment operation, and employee supervision. The successful candidate will lead by example, maintain high safety standards, and drive continuous improvement throughout the operation.
This role will work closely with dispatch, sales, purchasing, and management to ensure customers receive accurate orders and exceptional service.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse employees.
- Assign daily work priorities and manage workflow.
- Conduct employee training and performance reviews.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee receiving, put-away, picking, staging, loading, and shipping activities.
- Ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and on time.
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain warehouse organization and housekeeping standards.
- Support after-hours or special project requirements when necessary.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and inventory control procedures.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure products are properly stored, identified, and protected from damage.
- Work closely with purchasing to manage inventory accuracy and stock levels.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all workplace health and safety policies.
- Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service & Operations Support
- Work closely with dispatch to support delivery schedules and customer commitments.
- Coordinate with inside and outside sales teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Assist with resolving customer service issues related to warehouse operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and service levels.
QualificationsRequired
- 3–5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred
- Experience in building materials, construction supply, lumber, drywall, insulation, roofing, or industrial distribution.
- Experience with warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of inventory control and cycle counting procedures.
- Forklift certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions when required.
