Job Summary
We are a new company seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with various tools and machinery, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers.
- Diagnose mechanical issues.
- Repair or replace faulty components including brakes, axles, electrical systems, and/or hydraulic parts.
- Operate power tools, hand tools and welding equipment.
- Conduct heavy lifting and assist with the assembly or disassembly of trailer components.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/qualifications
- Knowledge of hydraulics' is considered an asset.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and/or in a team setting.
- AZ driver's license considered an asset.
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on trailers
- Dealership experience is a plus.
Physical requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, and provincial standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with provincial standards
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, pulling, pushing, lifting etc.
