Job Summary
Newstart Framing is seeking a skilled and dependable Framer to join our construction team. As a reputable framing company serving the Edmonton area, we take pride in delivering high-quality work and fostering a supportive environment where our team members are valued and cared for.
Candidates should possess experience in construction, framing, and the operation of power tools. This role requires frequent travel between various client sites and job locations across the Edmonton area. The successful candidate must supply their own reliable transportation to carry out daily field duties.
Compensation
- $25 - $40 hourly depending on experience
- 0.5 hour paid lunch break
- 1.5 overtime pay eligible
Duties
- Machinery are provided on site, reducing the physical demands of the role.
- Read and interpret blueprints to accurately execute construction plans.
- Construct and install framing for walls, floors, roofs, and other structures using hand tools and power tools.
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, and levels to complete carpentry tasks efficiently.
- Conduct heavy lifting of building materials up to specified weights while maintaining safety protocols.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in framing, carpentry, or general construction work.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
