Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The PSW plays a vital role in supporting clients’ independence, safety, and well-being in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or private homes. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized care and support.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed guidelines and ensure proper documentation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to promote mental health and well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Assist with exercises or therapy routines as directed by healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, working with individuals with disabilities, dementia care, and medication administration is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills and patience
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks including cleaning, meal preparation, and mobility assistance
- Valid certification or training as a Personal Support Worker (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing respectful and dignified care
Pay: $17.92-$20.00 per hour
