We are a growing cheese manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality dairy products using traditional craftsmanship and modern food production practices. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Cheesemaker to join our production team and play a key role in producing consistent, high-quality cheese products.
Position Summary
As a Cheesemaker, you will be responsible for carrying out the daily cheese production process from milk preparation through to curd handling, pressing, salting, etc..
. You will monitor production parameters, maintain very strict quality standards, and ensure all products are manufactured safely and consistently.
This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to producing exceptional products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cheese production according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Monitor milk quality, cultures, rennet additions, temperatures, pH levels, and production times.
- Cut, stir, drain, press, salt, and package cheese according to production specifications.
- Monitor cheese throughout the production process to ensure consistency and quality.
- Record production data and maintain accurate batch records.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation procedures.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and work areas.
- Report equipment issues or product quality concerns to management.
- Work closely with the production team to meet daily production targets.
- Assist with inventory of ingredients, cultures, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Help minimize product waste while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cheese production, dairy manufacturing, or food manufacturing is extremely preffered.
- Experience with artisan or commercial cheesemaking is considered a strong asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized production procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable lifting up to 35 kg and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when production requires.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Safe or equivalent food handling certification.
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards.
- Experience operating food production equipment.
