Job Brief:
The Journeyman Electrician will provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a customer’s electrical products and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Completes QA/QC redlines for as-built construction drawings.

Reads and interprets schematics and drawings related to electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.

Repairs and adjusts system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); removes and replaces defective parts.

Pulls wire through conduits, holes, and splice, join, and/or connect wire to form circuits.
-
Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
-
Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used.
-
Completes inventory transfers and provides monthly warehouse inventory reports.
-
Senior Journeyman will complete on the job training documents for Junior Technicians.

Mentors/trains electrical apprentices.
-
Provides on-call support as required.

Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
-
Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
-
Journeyman or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in electrical.
-
Technical training or experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
-
Experience using pressure and/or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems.

Ability to read, interpret, and understand piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings.

Ability to work long hours and participate in on-call schedule as required.

Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and use an ERP system, IFS w/ Aurena Tech Portal preferred.

Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).

Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
