Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Kennel Manager to oversee daily operations at our animal care facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the well-being of our animals, maintain a clean and safe environment, and provide exceptional customer service to pet owners. This role requires a responsible individual with strong leadership skills and a strong knowledge of dog care and dog first aid.
Duties
- Supervise daily kennel operations, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals
- Manage staff schedules and delegate tasks effectively
- Ensure all animals are cared for according to established protocols
- Assess dog injuries and treat appropriately on site and know when to contact vet.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within the facility
- Handle customer inquiries, provide information about pet care, and address concerns professionally
- Oversee inventory of supplies and order as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment to support kennel maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Monitor general health and behavior of dogs on site and coordinate veterinary care when necessary
Skills
- Pet First Aid
- Previous experience working in a kennel environment or veterinary office.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and visitors effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including lifting supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds
- Strong organizational skills to manage daily operations and staff schedules
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and pet owners
- Leadership qualities to motivate staff and ensure team efficiency
- Good communication skills for clear instructions and professional interactions
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and animal health records
