Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Team Member to join our dynamic food service team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service and supporting daily cafe operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and experience in food handling and customer service.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items, including coffee, tea, and light snacks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Assist customers with their orders, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service to enhance the dining experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for change and totals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene standards are upheld
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with inventory management
- Support team members during busy periods by multitasking efficiently and managing time effectively
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or barista roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all necessary skills
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in serving or cashiering roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed
