Peterson is seeking a Human Resources Manager to cover a maternity leave position at our Head Office in Vancouver. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing day-to-day human resources initiatives and programs that align with Peterson’s values and contribute to the success and growth of the Company. You will be implementing and guiding an effective HR platform that fosters a positive and accountable work environment. The position is a hands-on role ideal for a certified CPHR professional with extensive generalist experience with exposure to all areas of human resources.
Key Responsibilities

Providing confidential, professional (fair and effective) counsel and/or mediation on issues that arise in the workplace, in a proactive and constructive manner, with an emphasis on self-directed actions;

Supporting and advising employees in the interpretation of policies, procedures, and agreements;

Ensuring policies, procedures and programs are up-to-date, compliant with legislations and communicated in a timely manner;
-
Conducting full-cycle recruitment including reviewing and draft job descriptions, postings, interviews and selection;
-
Ensuring hiring practices comply with legislation;
-
Working with managers to identify the appropriate knowledge and skills needed to perform job responsibilities;
-
Working with department leaders on departmental planning and talent reviews.

Advising managers on the correct course of action when dealing with employee relations, terminations, breaches of Company policy etc;

Overseeing the performance management process and systems including goal setting and performance evaluations;

Conducting workplace investigations, recommending outcomes and implementing corrective actions;

Working with CFO to managing and communicate the Company’s total rewards program ensuring they are competitive and in alignment with the Company’s goals;

Overseeing the compensation process and systems including annual compensation reviews and compensation data;

Oversee the administration of the employee benefits program;

Promoting an exceptional culture of respect and dignity where employees are engaged, inspired and committed to serve the Company stakeholders;

Providing oversight and leadership to a team and managing the flow of work within the team.
What You Bring
-
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a generalist role developing and managing a variety of HR programs including recruitment and selection, learning and development, compensation, benefits, organizational development and performance management.

Experience using ADP WorkforceNow Recruitment, Compensation and Performance Management modules is an asset.

Working knowledge or previous experience running payroll is an asset.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Agility and ability to adapt to changing environments with calmness and rationale.

Thorough understanding of HR related provincial legislation and regulations in BC (ON familiarity is an asset).

High level of professionalism, discretion and tact in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically while successfully building positive relationships with key stakeholders

Being tactful with analyzing situations, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in an unbiased way.

Efficient and effective project management demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines while producing quality and accurate work.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience.
