Health & Safety Coordinator / JHSC Representative

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator / JHSC Representative to support workplace health and safety initiatives within a warehouse and logistics environment. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining compliance with Ontario health and safety regulations, promoting safe work practices, and supporting a positive safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and activities
- Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential safety hazards
- Assist with incident and workplace injury investigations and follow-up corrective actions
- Maintain health and safety records, reports, training logs, and related documentation
- Support new employee orientations and workplace safety training programs
- Monitor compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety policies
- Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety procedures and programs
- Support workplace hazard assessments and risk reduction initiatives
- Coordinate with supervisors and employees to address safety concerns and improve workplace safety practices
- Assist with WSIB-related documentation and reporting as required
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout warehouse and logistics operations
- Perform other health and safety related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous JHSC experience or Health & Safety experience preferred
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Ontario OHSA, WSIB requirements, and workplace safety practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- First Aid / CPR Certification is considered an asset
- Certified JHSC Member is considered an asset but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vaughan, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
