Role Overview
We are hiring a field-based Business Development Representative within the commercial construction and architectural products industry. This role focuses on building relationships with architects, designers, and end users to generate future project opportunities and grow market presence.This is a full-time, territory-based role, ideally based in Winnipeg, with regular travel throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in: Commercial construction sales, OR Architectural/specification sales, OR Industrial/building product sales
- Proven experience working with architects, designers, developers, or facility stakeholders
- Strong understanding of commercial construction sectors (institutional, healthcare, education, or multi-family)
- Experience using a CRM system (Salesforce or similar) to manage pipeline and activity
- Ability to build relationships and generate opportunities with end users and specification influencers
- Strong presentation and communication skills (client-facing, technical audiences)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across MB & SK
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with architectural hardware, building materials, or commercial product specification
- Familiarity with Divisions 01, 08, and 10 (construction documents)
- Experience delivering lunch & learns or product presentations
- AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) or similar certification
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, and end users
- Develop new business and create a long-term pipeline through specification influence
- Grow existing accounts by identifying project opportunities and client needs
- Create and execute territory and account plans
- Deliver presentations, product training, and lunch & learns
- Support clients with specifications, schedules, and solution recommendations
- Collaborate with internal sales teams on project handoffs and bid opportunities
- Track activity, pipeline, and forecasting through CRM tools
- Stay active in industry associations and networking events
- Monitor market trends and project activity in the region

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000+ (depending on experience)
- Bonus: Up to 15% of base salary
- Car allowance: $600/month + $0.25/km for travel
- Equipment: Company-provided laptop and cell phone
