Position: Full-Time ED Triage Guard
Site: Credit Valley Hospital | 2200 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga
Averaging Agreement :Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Continental Nights (2000 - 0800)
Payrate: $19.63 / per hour (based on leveling system,)

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.

Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.

Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.

Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.

Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards
Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)

Covid Vaccine two doses
-
Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test

English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset.

Vulnerable Sector Check - to be completed upon hire

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
-
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
