The Blueprint
The Scheduling Manager role is accountable and responsible for a wide range of project planning and scheduling process while working closely with the project team. This role will require a high degree of cross-departmental collaboration and will be responsible for supporting the full scheduling services within the portfolio of work.
A Glimpse of Your Daily Activities
Working directly with the Senior Director, Estimating and various project teams, you will be responsible for:
Project Scheduling
- Lead and manage the development of integrated project schedules across multiple departments.
- Ensure all schedules align with standard project coding systems, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity coding, and ID structures.
- Monitor critical path activities and overall schedule performance, identifying risks and potential impacts.
- Conduct schedule analysis and evaluate problem areas to determine criticality and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and support proposal schedules at both detailed and high-level stages.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all project schedule-related information.
- Review and validate schedule integration throughout all project phases and provide strategic feedback.
Schedule Monitoring & Updates
- Perform schedule updates and revisions using Primavera P6.
- Track milestone completion and communicate variances from baseline schedules.
- Identify delays, analyze impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Establish and manage project baselines while tracking performance against multiple versions.
- Analyze schedule performance, forecast completion dates, and report on trends and deviations.
- Provide accurate and timely scheduling input for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Develop and maintain lookahead schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to align execution with baseline schedules.
- Collect and interpret scheduling data from internal and external stakeholders.
Team Leader & Management
- Mentor and develop the individual members of the scheduling team.
Development & Oversight
- Oversee all scheduling parameters that influence project success.
- Ensure consistency and standardization of scheduling practices across all projects.
- Maintain a centralized database for schedule tracking, benchmarking, and analysis.
- Conduct productivity and performance analysis of construction operations.
The Architect of Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 10+ years of construction experience with a focus on overseeing project development and scheduling, residential high-rise preferred
- Strong proficiency in using scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of construction, scheduling, procedures, project plans and specification reading are required.
- Ability to schedule and track multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, analyzing and maintaining complex project schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for productivity analysis and identifying schedule-related issues,
- Excellent communication skills for conveying schedule information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong ability to prioritize and plan with a high attention to detail.
- Experience working on large-scale engineering and/or construction projects would be considered an asset.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in advanced features of scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, showcasing expertise in utilizing these tools to their full potential.
- Possession of a recognized project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
