Major Duties & Responsibilities
Project Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, drawings, and specifications. Produce regular cost and expenditure forecasts throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain a current directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Assist in building construction schedules and milestones, monitoring progress against targets. Support preparation and processing of contracts and contractual changes with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors. Manage contractor relations and oversee cost monitoring and control across projects.
Project Supervision: Organize, direct, and evaluate projects from start to finish — on schedule, on spec, and on budget. Submit project cost and administrative reports; prepare and issue progress schedules to clients. Negotiate contract revisions with Head Office, architects, consultants, and subcontractors. Ensure materials and equipment are available to meet project goals. Inspect employee work to verify quality and conformity with plans and specifications.
Leadership & Employee Development: Hire, supervise, and motivate employees and subcontractor staff to meet FundyPros performance and quality standards. Train team members on operational standards, work techniques, and safety practices. Provide effective onboarding for new employees and resolve workplace questions and issues as they arise.
Health & Safety: Audit job sites for regulatory compliance; ensure safety training; investigate incidents and file reports. Ensure supervisors are implementing safety regulations and policies.
Competencies Required
Achievement orientation, information management, organizational skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving ability.
Education & Experience Required
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or equivalent construction experience
- 7–10 years in commercial construction; 3–5 years in a PM or Senior PM role
- Proven experience managing complex projects (financial performance, scheduling, contractual compliance)
- Experience in drywall, steel framing, or interior systems strongly preferred
- PMP/Gold Seal Certification and bilingualism are assets
