About Giraffe Learning
Founded by Harvard alumni, Giraffe Learning is a boutique educational center in Richmond that empowers K-12 students to "stand higher, see further, and think forward." Our "Forward Learning" philosophy helps students bridge the gap between their current schoolwork and the requirements of top-tier global universities. We provide a vibrant, collaborative environment where creativity and academic rigor go hand-in-hand.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and multi-talented Junior Instructor & Creative Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid role that combines classroom teaching for younger learners with creative projects that help grow our brand. If you are a strong writer with a "math brain" who loves working with kids and has a flair for marketing, this is the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Junior English Instruction: Teach literacy, creative writing, and humanities to elementary and middle school students (Grades 3–8).
- SSAT Prep: Assist in the development and delivery of SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) prep, covering both the English and Math components.
- Marketing & Content Creation: Help craft engaging marketing materials, social media content, and program descriptions to showcase Giraffe Learning’s impact.
- Instructional Support: Collaborate with Senior Instructors to assist with high-level writing projects or university application materials during peak seasons.
- Program Promotion: Assist the Principal in promoting junior-level programs to families and the local community.
What We’re Looking For
- Creative Mindset: You know how to make learning fun for younger kids and have an eye for "what looks good" in marketing.
- Strong Quantitative & Verbal Skills: Comfortable teaching middle school level Math and English (essential for SSAT prep).
- Excellent Writing: Ability to write both creatively for kids and professionally for marketing/parents.
- Adaptability: A "can-do" attitude—ready to jump from a math problem to a marketing flyer to a writing critique.
- Education: Current UBC student or recent Graduate. Backgrounds in Education, Communications, English, or Arts with a strong math foundation are preferred.
