Position Overview
Vista Security is seeking an experienced and professional Security Guard to join our team in Oakville, ON. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in customer service, deterring theft, and responding to incidents.
As a security guard, you will play a key role in supporting the client and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of security services. You’ll help maintain a visible presence throughout the property, and assist in upholding a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.
We are looking for a dependable guard who demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in every situation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in conflict resolution and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in incident response, report writing, and maintaining accurate records such as daily activity and equipment logs.
- Provide a visible security presence by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, responding promptly to routine, emergency, and law enforcement-related calls.
- Identify, investigate, and address potential security breaches, safety hazards, thefts, or property damage.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, responding to inquiries, and representing both Vista Security and the client site with professionalism.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, including fire, medical, and security incidents, and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
- Escort emergency personnel such as police, fire, and paramedics to designated locations when required.
- Collaborate with on-site service providers and stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
- Manage parcels, parking permits, and visitor logs
- Follow site-specific post orders and procedures
General
This role description outlines the primary responsibilities of the position and may be
amended from time to time to reflect operational requirements. Additional duties may
be assigned as required.
Schedule
- Part-time overnights
- Some evenings, afternoons, and weekends may be required

Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required and in good standing).
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification (required)
- Use of Force certification (preferred)
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Reliable transportation
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the security industry, tactical or mall security experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Post-secondary education in Police Foundations or a related field is considered an asset.
- Professional presence with strong judgment and situational awareness
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience preferred, not mandatory
- Basic computer skills are preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
