Responsibilities
- Efficient preparation and production of menu items for the restaurant, banquets & in-room dining with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ensures that sanitation, hygiene and safety standards for proper food storage and handling are met and exceeded
- Finds creative solutions to guest requests
- Ensures a safe working environment through proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards
- Assists the culinary team with various food preparation tasks
- Informs Chef immediately of any equipment that is broken or requires maintenance
- Performs other tasks assigned by management
Requirements
- Flexible to work weekends, days, evenings, stat holidays as needed
- Banquet experience an asset
- Valid Food Safe certificate required
- Moderate communication and spoken English skills
- A sincere passion for the culinary arts and prides themselves on creating inspiring dishes using local ingredients
- Successful completion of a diploma/certificate in culinary arts a big asset
- 1 years’ previous culinary experience, strong line experience in a similar fast-paced environment preferred
- Must be able to understand and follow WHMIS at all times
- Must be a team player
