Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing tile surfaces in residential and commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. The Tile Installer will work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure high-quality results that meet client specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine tile layout and installation procedures.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar for tile installation.
- Cut, shape, and lay tiles using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to achieve precise fits and finishes.
- Install various types of tiles including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass in floors, walls, backsplashes, and other surfaces.
- Perform caulking around tiled surfaces to ensure waterproofing and a finished appearance.
- Assist with related tasks such as masonry work, concrete finishing, cabinetry installation, or restoration projects as needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal during and after projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols when operating heavy equipment or working with power tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tile Installer or in related construction roles such as carpentry or masonry.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and tile cutting equipment.
- Familiarity with construction painting, concrete forming, flooring installation, plumbing, electrical work, welding, masonry, restoration, cabinet installation, or heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various environments.
