Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Reconditioning Auto Technician to help prepare vehicles for sale. This is a hands-on automotive role involving detailing, polishing, paint-prep support, light maintenance, wheel swaps, fluids, parts handling, and general shop support.
This position is best suited for someone who has some automotive, detailing, body shop, or hands-on vehicle experience and wants steady work in a growing used vehicle business.
Pay
Starting wage is $22-28 per hour (experience, speed and quality), paid through payroll with required deductions.
After 3 months, the employer may introduce a production bonus based on work quality, productivity, reliability, and business needs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- full vehicle detailing, washing, vacuuming, interior cleaning, stain removal, shampooing, and odour removal;
- polishing, buffing, compounding, waxing, paint correction, and finishing work;
- sanding, masking, panel preparation, primer preparation, and other paint-prep work;
- assisting with minor cosmetic repairs and non-structural reconditioning work;
- removing and reinstalling trim, bumpers, liners, lights, mouldings, clips, and other components;
- oil and filter changes;
- checking, topping up, draining, and replacing vehicle fluids as assigned;
- seasonal tire changes and wheel swaps;
- checking tire condition, lights, fluid condition, visible leaks, warning lights, and other basic vehicle concerns;
- receiving, organizing, and handling parts, tools, supplies, and materials;
- maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area;
- protecting vehicles from damage while cleaning, prepping, moving, or working around them;
- moving vehicles on the property and delivering vehicles to inspection or service facilities once licensed and authorized.
Driver’s Licence
A valid driver’s licence is a strong asset because some duties involve moving vehicles and taking vehicles to inspection or service facilities.
If you do not currently have a valid licence, it is expected that you are working toward obtaining one within approximately 2–3 months of starting employment.
Requirements
- Some automotive, detailing, body shop, reconditioning, or hands-on vehicle experience preferred.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Must be careful when working around vehicles, paint, interiors, parts, and tools.
- Must be comfortable with physical, hands-on work.
- Must be willing to do cleaning, polishing, prep work, wheels, fluids, and general shop tasks.
- Must be honest and willing to report any damage, mistake, broken clip, scratch, spill, or vehicle issue immediately.
- Must be able to work safely around tools, chemicals, moving vehicles, and shop equipment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
