THE ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
The Field Operations Section (FOS) of the ICAO’s Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI) is responsible for the development, execution, monitoring, reporting and closure of the projects contained in the Capacity Development and Implementation Programme (CDIP). It provides advice and assistance with regard to the Safety, Air Navigation Capacity and Efficiency, Security and Facilitation, Economic Development of Air Transport, and Environmental Protection of civil aviation, in accordance with ICAO’s related Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and Strategic Goals.
FOS executes the CDIP under the One-Single Process approach intended to create a seamless end-to-end management of projects by enhancing its service orientation and providing greater value to Member States and stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with internal regulations and ISO 9001 procedures.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Under the supervision of the Chief, Field Operations Section, the intern will:
- Populate and help maintain FOS document repositories, reporting tools and project management tools to facilitate the work of FOS.
- Assist in the preparation of FOS’ financial forecast table.
- Assist in the preparation of FOS reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence and other documents in relation to the development of new projects and/or the implementation of on-going projects.
- Assist in the preparation of the CDI booth at different conferences, including keeping inventory up to date and managing resources throughout the events.
- Assist with the organization of the CDI Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS), as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of marketing or promotional material.
- Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
At the time of application, candidates are required to have completed or be enrolled in a degree programme in a field study related to civil aviation, management, economics, international relations, engineering or computer science.
Languages
Essential
- Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English .
Desirable
- A working knowledge of any other language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) .
CONDITIONS OF INTERNSHIP
Interns will receive a stipend. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern.
The duration of the internship is six months. The intern is expected to work five days a week, on a full-time basis.
Interns shall not be eligible to be engaged in any other form of employment within ICAO during the period of internship.
Interns have the obligation to carry out duties assigned to them with loyalty, discretion and conscience and will act in accordance with the relevant official instructions issued by the Organization.
