This role is based out of our Toronto office on a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office per week, with the remaining 2 days remote. In-office days are used for client workshops, team sessions, and key planning cycles. Candidates must be located in the Greater Toronto Area and authorized to work in Canada.
Position Overview:-
Tru Inc is seeking a Paid Media Strategist. We have one (1) permanent position available for an immediate start. You will own paid media strategy across a portfolio of client accounts spanning B2C, B2B, and ecommerce. The role is hands-on. You build the plan, brief the activation team, present to clients, and stay accountable for the numbers. Expect to manage a mix of Google, Meta, LinkedIn, programmatic, and emerging channels at six-figure annual budgets per account.
Key Responsibilities:-

Build paid media strategies and channel mixes for client accounts ranging from $10K to $150K+ in monthly spend, grounded in business KPIs rather than platform metrics.

Own forecasting, budget pacing, and quarterly planning across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, programmatic (DV360 or Trade Desk), and platform-specific buys such as Amazon, TikTok, and Reddit where relevant.

Lead client-facing strategy presentations, QBRs, and weekly performance reviews. Translate media performance into commercial outcomes for marketing leadership.

Partner with the activation team on campaign builds, audience strategy, creative testing frameworks, and bid strategy. Review setups before launch.

Run measurement frameworks including server-side tracking, GA4, Conversions API, and consent mode across client accounts.

Diagnose performance issues across funnel, creative, audience, and platform. Write the recommendation that gets the account back on track.

Maintain a working point of view on attribution, privacy changes, and emerging ad platforms, and bring that thinking into client strategy

Support junior media specialists on the team by reviewing their work and contributing to the standard of output.
What You'll Bring
Required:-
-
4 years of hands-on paid media experience in an agency or in-house performance team, with demonstrated ownership of multi-channel strategy rather than single-platform execution.

Direct, in-platform experience across Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager, with measurable accountability for spend and outcomes.

Working experience with at least one programmatic DSP (DV360, The Trade Desk, or equivalent) or at least one of: Amazon Ads, TikTok Ads, Reddit Ads, or Pinterest Ads.

Strong command of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and post-iOS 14.5 measurement (CAPI, consent mode, modeled conversions).

Experience presenting paid media strategy and performance to senior client stakeholders (Marketing Director, VP, or CMO level).

Strong analytical foundation. Comfortable in Looker Studio, Excel, or Sheets, and able to build a media plan and a forecast from first principles.
Preferred Experience:-

Experience with incrementality testing, geo-lift studies, or Marketing Mix Modeling.

Background working across both lead generation and ecommerce accounts.

Exposure to retail media networks (Amazon, Walmart Connect, Criteo) or CTV buying.

Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or DV360 certifications.
