THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a SSM (Selective Soldering Machine) Operator responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining machinery and related processes to ensure printed circuit boards are assembled accurately and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Setting up, operating and monitoring of machinery and related equipment/processes
· Troubleshooting of equipment when problems arise
· Setting up and tearing down of equipment
· Cleaning and performing operator preventative maintenance where required
· Preparing and assembling electronic components into printed circuit board assemblies
· Performing visual inspection of boards to confirm accurate placement and polarity of components, and compliance to workmanship standards
· Performing other duties as required (potting, wire stripping, assembly, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience working with machinery is an asset
· Minimum grade 12 Diploma or GED – Technology Diploma would be an asset
· Experience working in an electronics environment is an added advantage
· Experience with component lead forming is an asset
· Soldering experience, Class 2 is an added advantage
· Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards is an asset
· Knowledge of J-STD-001 is an asset
· Strong reading skills – ability to read and comprehend work instructions, blue prints and engineering drawings
· Good verbal and listening communications skills – able to provide clear and concise feedback and act correctly on received information and direction
· Intermediate computer skills – comfortable navigating a computer to load programs, retrieve data and respond to equipment notifications
· Strong self-starter and can work effectively independently and/or with a team
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines
