Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented TDSB TOPS Program Admission Exam Teacher to join our team. In this paid role, you will prepare students for the Toronto District School Board’s TOPS (Toronto Otis Placement Service) admission exam by delivering engaging tutoring sessions. Your expertise will help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and succeed in gaining admission to their desired programs.
Duties
- Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions focused on exam content and test-taking strategies for the TDSB TOPS admission exam
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with the exam’s requirements and student needs
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to maximize learning outcomes
- Provide clear explanations of concepts related to Mathematical Reasoning, Scientific Problem Solving & Innovation, and Logic & Coding Concept
- Support students in developing effective study habits and time management skills for exam success
- Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions, student performance, and progress reports
- Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students and builds their confidence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or taking TOPS program admission exam
- Strong teaching or tutoring experience or familiarity with educational best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts
- Knowledge of the TDSB TOPS admission exam format and content
- Passion for helping students succeed and a proactive approach to instruction
- Ability to create engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining a professional teaching environment
