Job Specific Responsibilities
- Ability to work safely following all MCES procedures and safe work practices, whether working alone or as part of a team, to ensure safety remains paramount in everything we do.
- Effectively read, interpret and follow project scope drawings & installation standards and complete activities (independently or as part of a group) to meet the goals of the project.
- Construction of OIL & GAS field sites across Western Canada including installation of cable tray, cabling, field devices, conduit systems, UPS systems, distribution equipment and grounding.
- Equipment energization and commissioning as required.
- Ability to redline drawings on site to reflect what is finalized on site. Blue Beam experience is an asset but is not required.
- Work in a team environment with the ability to teach and train apprentices and ensure that the highest quality of work.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret scope drawings (wiring diagrams, cable schedules, etc.).
- Competent in using hand tools and power tools.
- Flexible schedule to work away from home on projects with varying requirements for travel, overtime and weekend work.
- Skilled with installing electrical components in field facilities, running conduit, pulling cable, mounting hardware, and performing point-to-point tests.
- Previous Electrical experience working in Oil & Gas related facilities would be considered an asset.
Industry Training & Experience
- 4th Year or Journeyman's Certificate
- Field experience (3+years) - maintenance and/or construction in the Electrical trade.
- Canadian Electrical Code - must possess an in-depth knowledge of the CEC plus industry standards and best practices.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Safety Tickets Required
- CSTS 2020, BSO, or CSO
- H2S Alive (not required for immediate hire but must be willing to take the course when required)
- Standard First Aid
- WHMIS
MCES Inc. is based in Alix, AB. The majority of project sites are located throughout Alberta and applicants must be willing to travel to these sites (travel is compensated). Occasional travel to other places within Canada may also be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44.00-$50.00 per hour
