Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
Base Wage: $28/hour (includes$6/h Wage Enhancement).
Location: Osoyoos Childcare Centre, Osoyoos, BC
Job Type: [Full-time/Part-time/Casual]
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (not including Stat Holidays) with potential of moving to later hours like 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Osoyoos Child Care Centre is a warm and welcoming daycare dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. We focus on play-based learning and fostering children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team and help shape the foundation of children's learning in their early years.
Job Responsibilities
● Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning activities in alignment with BC’s Early Learning Framework.
● Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children can learn and grow.
● Supervise and interact positively with children, guiding them in developing independence, social skills, and emotional regulation.
● Communicate effectively and professionally with families, providing updates on children’s progress and daily activities.
● Maintain accurate child records, developmental observations, and daily reports.
● Ensure compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and uphold health and safety standards.
● Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to create a positive, team-oriented workplace.
● Adapt programming and support children with diverse learning needs when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry.
● Clear Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check).
● Strong knowledge of child development principles and experience implementing play-based learning strategies.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and team members.
● Understanding of cultural diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous perspectives in early childhood education.
● Physical ability to actively engage with children (e.g., bending, lifting, sitting on the floor).
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
● Infant/Toddler Educator (ITE) or Special Needs Educator (SNE) certification.
● Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certification.
● Experience with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or emergent curriculum approaches.
● Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
