Job Summary
Hiatus House is hiring a Shelter Support Worker for an 8-week summer contract. The funding for this position has been made available through Human Resources Development Canada. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 and hold Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or Refugee Status
This is your opportunity to gain experience in counselling, intake, assessments, and crisis intervention, as well as increasing your knowledge in the areas of intimate partner violence and human trafficking.
Working conditions include: Availability to work day and afternoon shifts.
Requirements: Experience working in a social service organization and/or working with vulnerable populations. Social Work students are encouraged to apply.
Rate of pay: $19.00 per hour/35 hours a week
