Your future role

You'll play a key role in ensuring our rolling stock systems meet technical requirements and customer expectations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (Engineering Metiers, Certification & Validation teams, suppliers, and customers), lead technical discussions, and oversee requirement development and system integration.
You’ll specifically take care of defining system architectures and managing requirements, but also contribute to testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
We’ll look to you for:
Developing technical requirements from reference and applicable documents, and allocating these requirements to various subsystems
Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all subsystems
Writing subsystem specifications (TPS) and subsystem architecture descriptions
Completing requirements management interfaces (DOORS) and contract deliverables
Driving technical relationships with suppliers and customers, including risk evaluation and validation
Defining and performing train verification strategies in collaboration with Engineering Metiers and Certification & Validation teams
Ensuring compliance with engineering processes and providing regular reporting and risk mitigation plans
Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing Return on Experience (RoE)

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
Minimum of 6 years of rolling stock experience (or safety-critical transport or similar industry, owning system-level requirements for a full design team), including services contract execution (mandatory)
Technical knowledge of transit vehicles and/or Public Transportation Industry
Proficiency in meeting, validating, and managing contractual requirements (mandatory)
Strong customer-facing and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and Alstom’s position clearly (mandatory)
Experience with vehicle system architecture design, and testing (mandatory)
Valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license (mandatory)
Travel: If located outside of Thunder Bay, routine travel to the manufacturing facility in Thunder Bay may be required (up to once a month for approx 3-4 days at a time)

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $92,000 – $121,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
