Point Grey Golf & Country Club is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Dishwasher. Established in 1922, Point Grey is one of Vancouver’s most prestigious private clubs, known for its exceptional golf experience and dedication to delivering best-in-class conditions for our membership.
Position Overview:
As a Dishwasher, you will be an integral part of the club's food and beverage team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our busy kitchen. You will work closely with the culinary team to ensure that all dishes and utensils are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. If you are a team player who takes pride in your work and enjoys working in a dynamic and challenging setting, we would love to hear from you.
Availability: Seasonal Part-time. Must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Wage: Starting at $19/hour plus gratuities
Responsibilities:
- Set up and break down the dish machine, including all removable internal parts.
- Clean and polish the outside of the dish machine thoroughly and clean the interior, including removing any debris and hosing down the wash chamber.
- Check the dishwasher frequently to ensure it is operating correctly and report any malfunctions to the Chef.
- Wash all dishes, trays, utensils, cups, banquet dishes, small equipment, and prep equipment and store them in their proper places in a timely manner.
- Wash all cutlery and assist servers with sorting on a regular basis.
- Check, monitor and record temperature daily.
- Assist in ensuring smooth and efficient work and service flows.
- Promote team spirit between kitchen and service staff.
- Perform any other reasonable request as assigned by Chef or Sous Chef.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in the food services industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Ability to work individually, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to withstand extended periods of standing and other physically demanding situations.
- Ability to operate in a high-pressured work environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as regular overtime.
