Qualifications
- Registered Nurse registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) certification required
- ACLS certification required
- TNCC certification preferred
- PALS certification preferred
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: September 30, 2026 plus possibility of extension
- Travel: Provided ($0.70/km)
- Accommodation: Provided ($650/month at the candidate's expense)
- Overtime: Not applicable
Responsibilities
Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide emergency nursing care, including triage, assessment, and treatment of acute patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency environment
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on operational needs and shift assignments. Site-specific orientation will be provided.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Recent travel Canadian nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Skills
- Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
