Lead Hand / Shop Supervisor

North Bay Woodwork is seeking an experienced Lead Hand / Shop Supervisor to join our team.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working in the shop while helping coordinate production, support the team, and keep projects moving efficiently. You'll spend part of your day building, assembling, machining, and assisting with production, while also overseeing workflow, priorities, inventory, and project readiness.

Responsibilities
- Lead daily shop operations and help coordinate production activities
- Work alongside the team in manufacturing, assembly, finishing, and other shop tasks as required
- Prioritize projects and ensure work is progressing according to schedules and installation dates
- Review drawings, materials, and job packages to identify issues before production begins
- Coordinate with installers, suppliers, and office staff to ensure projects stay on track
- Monitor inventory levels and help manage material requirements
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement practical solutions
- Train and support shop staff while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Assist with equipment maintenance, shop organization, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Experience in cabinetmaking, millwork, woodworking, or a related trade
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead hand experience
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and plans
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Full G driver’s license required
- Ability to use computers and mobile devices for email correspondence, scheduling and viewing digital drawings/documents
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Forklift experience is an asset

About Us
North Bay Woodwork designs, manufactures, and installs custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for residential, commercial, and institutional clients throughout Northern Ontario.
Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

- Corbeil, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Class G Licence (required)
