As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Client Recruitment Specialist to support our mission of connecting more Nova Scotians with the care they need in the Valley area.
This position is supported through the START Program, and is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow a career in healthcare, community outreach, or client services.
Position Summary
The Client Recruitment Specialist will lead outreach and engagement efforts to identify and onboard new clients for home care services. This role involves community networking, client intake coordination, and supporting families through the process of accessing care. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, organized, and community-minded individual who is passionate about helping others and building relationships.
This role is ideal for someone who is returning to the workforce, changing careers, or looking to build experience in the healthcare or human services sector who is currently unemployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Outreach & Community Engagement
- Connect with potential clients through outreach to hospitals, senior centers, clinics, and community organizations or at their homes.
- Represent Osprey Angels at local events and community meetings if needed.
- Promote awareness of available services through digital outreach, flyers, and in-person visits
- Client Intake & Support
- Conduct initial consultations to understand client needs
- Guide clients and families through the intake process
- Maintain clear and timely communication with all parties involved
- Referral Network Development
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with referral partners, including social workers, health professionals, and case managers
- Data Management & Reporting
- Track outreach efforts and client interactions using internal systems
- Report on client leads, conversions, and community impact as required
Who Should Apply?
As this position is in part funded through START (LSI) We will only review applications from candidates who are currently unemployed with some priority given to those who face barriers to employment such as recent grads, long-term unemployed, persons with disabilities, Indigenous or LGBTQIA2+, etc (Note: This list is non-exhaustive and we acknowledge there could be other barriers. The below are just some examples)
The successful Candidate must:
- be Willing to work with a NS Works Case manager to verify START (LSI) Eligibility
- Have a strong interest in working with people and making a difference in the community
- To Meet START Requirements the person must be a Perm. Resident or have Canadian Citizenship. Non-Residents currently on a Study or (PG)Work Permit are not Eligible and resumes will not be considered.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking with clients, families, and community organizations
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Familiarity with the healthcare or home care sector is an asset (but not required)
- Must be able to work independently and travel locally (valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required or a good understanding of HRM Buses)
- Computer literacy (email, Word, basic data entry)
