Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to enhance the overall dining experience. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, along with strong communication and phone etiquette skills. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression and maintaining smooth operations within the establishment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Square POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone inquiries courteously, providing accurate information about the restaurant’s services and availability
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback professionally
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy hours to reduce wait times and enhance guest experience
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, demonstrating excellent customer service skills at all times
- Receive and coordinate Take Away orders and Door Dash
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred; restaurant experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse guests effectively
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is desirable
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
- Familiarity with hotel or restaurant operations is advantageous
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
