Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aid/Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities and care. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for clients, including those with disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This position requires a nurturing attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in various settings such as home care, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities. We are seeking compassionate and reliable Health Care Aides (HCAs) and Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our professional care team.
What You’ll Bring to Our Clients and Their Families
In this role, you will make a meaningful difference by:
- Delivering respectful and attentive personal care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, and activities of daily living
- Preparing nutritious meals, providing feeding support, and maintaining a clean, safe home environment
- Offering medication reminders and supporting regular exercise and wellness routines
- Providing compassionate companionship and emotional support that honours each client’s life story and preferences
- Facilitating creative and engaging activities — such as music, art, storytelling, and gentle movement — tailored to enhance cognitive well-being and joy for clients with dementia
- Accompanying clients to medical appointments, errands, or community outings as needed
- Maintaining clear communication with families and the care team, ensuring continuity of care and timely updates
- Contributing to personalized care plans that prioritize dignity, independence, and family involvement
What You’ll Need to Shine in This Role
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide (HCA) or Personal Support Worker (PSW) program (or commitment to obtain)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Registration or eligibility in the Alberta HCA Directory is preferred
- Experience in home care, senior care, or dementia support is an asset
- Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 driver’s license (mileage reimbursed)
- Clean vulnerable sector criminal record check
- Strong English communication skills, professionalism, empathy, and dependability
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
