Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to lead our fast-paced restaurant team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Shift Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure food safety and quality standards are met, and motivate staff to perform at their best. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards and food safety compliance.
- Manage cash handling and POS transactions accurately using Micros POS systems.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
- Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
- Hire food service staff
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Prepare budget and cost estimates
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Prepare and submit reports
- Supervise and check assembly of trays
- Establish work schedules
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, ideally with supervising or team management responsibilities.
- Knowledge of pizza preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; experience with cash handling is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Experience in interviewing and onboarding new employees is a plus.
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable.
