About the Role
The Education Data & Compliance Manager provides leadership and oversight for education reporting systems, data
integrity, and compliance processes within the Kitaskinaw Education Authority (KEA) and Enoch Cree Nation (ECN).
This position works directly with the Senior Manager of Education to ensure that all student information systems,
education reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance processes are accurately maintained and submitted in
accordance with provincial and federal requirements, including Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) reporting obligations.
The Education Data & Compliance Manager oversees the effective use and management of Student Information Systems
(PowerSchool, PASI, and Dossier) to ensure accurate student enrollment data, attendance tracking, high school credit
submissions, and Nominal Roll reporting.
This role supervises and supports Student Information System (SIS) Administrative Assistants and ensures that student
data systems operate effectively across Early Years programs, K–12 schools, and the Kaya Pomeh Adult Education
program.
The position also provides oversight and coordination for education financial reporting requirements related to ISC and
grant-funded programs, ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance.
Additionally, the Education Data & Compliance Manager serves as the IT liaison for the Education Department, ensuring
that technology systems supporting education data management comply with Access to Information and Protection of
Privacy (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) requirements.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex data systems that
support the effective administration and accountability of KEA and ECN education programs.
Effective education systems rely on accurate information, transparent reporting, and responsible data management to
support student success and organizational accountability.
The Education Data & Compliance Manager promotes practices that:
- Ensure accurate student data and reporting processes

The role supports KEA’s and ECN’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of
education programs and resources.
Leadership within KEA reflects the Cree principle of wahkohtowin, recognizing the responsibility to support the
wellbeing of students, staff, families, and community through responsible and ethical administrative practices.
Student Information Systems Oversight
- Oversee the administration and integrity of student information systems including PowerSchool, PASI,
and Dossier.
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of student enrollment, attendance, course information,
and demographic data.
- Monitor system data to ensure compliance with provincial reporting requirements.
- Ensure accurate high school credit submissions and student record management where applicable.
Nominal Roll Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and submission of Nominal Roll reports in accordance with Indigenous
Services Canada requirements.
- Ensure student enrollment and attendance data used for Nominal Roll reporting is accurate and verified.
- Coordinate with school administration and SIS staff to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
Supervision of SIS Administrative Staff
- Provide leadership and support to Student Information System Administrative Assistants. GUIDING PHILOSOPHY
- Ensure consistent data management practices across KEA schools and education programs.
- Provide training and guidance related to student data systems and reporting processes.
Financial Reporting and Grant Compliance
- Support financial oversight related to ISC reporting requirements and grant-funded education programs.
- Assist in coordinating financial documentation and reporting requirements for education grants and
funding programs.
- Ensure reporting processes support transparency and accountability.
Information Technology and Privacy Compliance
- Serve as the Education Department liaison with IT services.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of technology systems used for education reporting and
data management.
- Ensure compliance with Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy
Act (POPA) requirements.
- Promote responsible data security and information management practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze student data, enrollment trends, attendance patterns, and reporting metrics.
- Prepare reports that support education leadership in decision-making and program planning.
- Ensure data reporting supports operational planning and compliance requirements.
Collaboration with Education Leadership
- Work closely with the Senior Manager of Education, school administrators, and program leaders to
address reporting needs and data accuracy.
- Support education leadership in maintaining strong accountability systems.
- Assist in developing processes that improve reporting efficiency and data integrity.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.

programs operate with strong accountability, transparency, and compliance.
The role contributes to organizational practices aligned with:
- Education governance and reporting requirements

- Data management and privacy legislation
- KEA and ECN operational standards and administrative practices
The Education Data & Compliance Manager promotes responsible data stewardship and ensures that KEA and ECN
education programs operate with accurate reporting, compliance, and effective information management systems.

EDUCATION
One of the following isrequired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education Administration, Data Management, Public
Administration, or a related field
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Equivalent combinations of relevant leadership experience and professional certifications may be considered in
lieu of a formal degree. Examples may include certifications or training in Project Management (PMP or CAPM),

Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Department
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Data Management, Information Systems, Indigenous
Governance or Administration programs, or Occupational Health & Safety training, combined with significant
experience in education administration, operations management, or First Nations organizational leadership.
Candidates with extensive experience managing education reporting systems, compliance frameworks, and
student data systems may also be considered.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerability Sector and Child Welfare Intervention Check is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in education administration, reporting systems, or data management roles.
- Experience working with student information systems such as PowerSchool, PASI, or similar platforms.
- Experience managing reporting or compliance processes.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE
- Experience preparing Nominal Roll or ISC education reporting
- Experience working within education systems or public sector organizations
- Experience supervising administrative staff
Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Work hours are from: 8:30AM – 4:30PM. Monday to Friday
- Required to work a total of 40 hours per week (Essential Service)
- 12-month based employee, will have accrual-based vacation hours on an annual basis
- May require occasional lifting of light office supplies and equipment.
- This position may require travel to variouslocationsfor meetings and events.
- Work occurs within education administration offices and school environments.
- The role may require managing multiple reporting deadlines and compliance timelines.
