Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Dozer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, primarily dozers, to assist in earthmoving, grading, and paving projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and construction site safety. The Dozer Operator will play a vital part in ensuring project efficiency and safety standards are maintained throughout all phases of construction.
Duties
- Operate dozers and other heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to perform earthmoving, grading, and site preparation tasks
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Assist with horizontal drilling, paving, and other specialized construction activities as needed
- Coordinate with team members to execute project plans efficiently
- Maintain a clean work environment around machinery and work site
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
Requirements
- Proven experience operating dozers and other heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with horizontal drilling and paving projects is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment or similar brands effectively
- Prior construction experience with heavy equipment operation required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions
Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Vermilion, AB
