Employer: Union Signatory Contractor (IUPAT District Council 17)
Wage: Posted starting rate of $32.25 is the Journeyperson rate. Rates may vary based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and project requirements.

A Union Signatory Painting Contractor is seeking experienced Commercial Painters for projects throughout Manitoba. Opportunities may include local work, out-of-town assignments, large-scale commercial projects, institutional work, and LOA (Living Out Allowance) positions depending on project requirements.
We are specifically seeking candidates with strong commercial painting experience who can contribute as senior painters, lead hands, or progress into foreperson and supervisory positions. Key Responsibilities
- Perform commercial painting and coating applications on a variety of commercial, institutional, and multi-residential projects
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, patching, cleaning, priming, and other surface preparation methods
- Apply paints, coatings, stains, and specialty finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Interpret project specifications and ensure work is completed to quality standards
- Lead crews and coordinate work activities when required
- Maintain productivity, safety, and workmanship standards on site
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced painters
- Complete project documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
What We're Looking For
- Several years of commercial painting experience is required
- Previous foreperson, lead hand, or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, and multi-residential construction projects
- Experience with spray application equipment and specialty coatings is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality workmanship
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying job site conditions
- Relevant safety certifications (Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, First Aid, CSTS, or equivalent) are considered assets
