Job Overview
Earl of Sandwich is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused, and reliable individuals to join our team as Sandwich Artists. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sandwiches and menu items, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming restaurant environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced setting, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in creating great food and memorable customer experiences. Previous food service experience is an asset, but we are happy to train motivated candidates who are eager to learn and grow with our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other menu items according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, ensuring every guest has a positive experience.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
- Operate restaurant equipment including ovens, slicers, toasters, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Restock ingredients, supplies, and packaging materials as needed.
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, including food preparation, dining, and service areas.
- Promote menu items and suggest add-ons to enhance the guest experience and support sales growth.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, quick-service restaurant, or food service environment is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
