The Equipment/Shop Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operational readiness, organization, tracking, and inventory control of service rig equipment, parts, and mechanical assets while gaining hands-on experience within the oilfield servicing industry. This role combines yard operations, shipping and receiving, inventory coordination, and basic mechanical support responsibilities under the guidance of Fleet and Equipment Manager & Operations.
The Equipment/Shop Coordinator works closely with Operations, Mechanics, Field Personnel, and Vendors to ensure parts, materials, tools, and equipment are properly organized, tracked, maintained, and available to support field operations. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn equipment and inventory management processes.
- Assist with coordinating movement of equipment, parts, and materials between rigs, yards, shops, and third-party repair or recertification facilities
- Support shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material tracking activities
- Receive, label, organize, stock, and issue parts, tools, and supplies within the yard and shop
- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records, work orders, maintenance documentation, and equipment tracking within company systems
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of low stock or critical spare requirements
- Support equipment inspections, preventative maintenance scheduling, and repair coordination activities
- Assist mechanics and operations personnel by locating, preparing, and staging required parts and materials for repairs and maintenance
- Operate loaders, forklifts, and other equipment required to safely move and organize assets within the yard
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party contractors regarding parts orders, deliveries, repairs, and equipment servicing
- Maintain clean, organized yard, shop, and storage areas
- Assist with tracking equipment certifications, inspections, and maintenance intervals
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve organization, inventory accuracy, equipment tracking, and operational efficiency
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Perform other duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Interest in parts, inventory management, heavy equipment, or mechanical operations
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, yard operations, or mechanical support roles considered an asset
- Experience within the well servicing, drilling, transportation, construction, or oilfield service industry considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment considered an asset
- Experience operating loaders, forklifts, or other equipment considered an asset
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced operational environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and inventory or maintenance tracking systems
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license required
- On-call work will be required outside of normal business hours based on requirements.
- Work is performed in both office and outdoor yard environments.
