Job Summary
We are a friendly family in Saskatoon looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic caregiver to help care for our 6-year-old son, who will be starting Grade 1 this fall.
Both parents work full-time, and I will soon be working at a new location that requires additional support with childcare. We are looking for someone who can provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment after school and during occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and supervise our son after school, if required.
- Transport him to and from sports practices and activities.
- Take him to the park and encourage outdoor play and social interaction with friends.
- Prepare simple meals and snacks.
- Assist with evening routines, including bathing when needed.
- Engage him in fun, educational, and age-appropriate activities.
- Ensure his safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate regularly with both parents by phone or email regarding our son’s day and any concerns.
Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for young children is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Reliable transportation is an asset.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification is required.
- Responsible, patient, caring, trustworthy, and dependable.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
- The successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check before employment.
- References from previous childcare or related work are an asset.
Schedule
- Part-time.
- Primarily weekday afternoons after school.
- Some evenings and occasional weekends, depending on our work schedules.
- Hours may vary and will be discussed during the interview.
Compensation
$18-$20.00 per hour, with opportunities for additional hours based on our family’s needs.
