We are looking for a creative storyteller to take our digital presence (@sobsylvan) to the next level, driving foot traffic and capturing the energy of life by the lake.
Job Summary
This is a hybrid role that blends on-site visual storytelling with remote strategy and execution. You will spend time on-site at our Lakeshore Drive location to capture high-quality, authentic content (photos, reels, behind-the-scenes) and collaborate directly with our leadership team. The remainder of your hours can be completed remotely, focusing on scheduling, community management, and analytics.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Capturing: Spend dedicated hours on-site each week capturing high-quality photo and video content of our dishes, drinks, guest experiences, and team dynamics.
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a monthly content calendar that aligns with restaurant promotions, seasonal menu shifts, and local Sylvan Lake events.
- Collaborative Development: Attend regular on-site strategy meetings with the Leadership Team/Chief to align digital marketing with operational goals.
- Platform Management: Oversee and grow our Instagram (@sobsylvan) and other emerging channels, ensuring a consistent, engaging, and professional brand voice.
- Community Engagement: Actively respond to direct messages, comments, and reviews in a timely, hospitable manner that reflects our brand personality.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor key metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) and provide a brief monthly summary of what’s working and where we can pivot.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience managing social media platforms professionally (experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or tourism is a massive asset).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in mobile photography, video editing apps (CapCut, Canva, or Adobe suite), and short-form video trends (Reels/TikTok).
- Proximity: Must live in or near Sylvan Lake and have reliable transportation to be on-site at 4603 Lakeshore Drive for content days and meetings.
- Mindset: A self-starter who can confidently interact with kitchen staff, front-of-house teams, and guests to capture organic moments.
- Organization: Excellent time management skills to balance 25–35 hours of weekly work across content collection, editing, and scheduling.
