Skilled Shop Laborer (Mechanical Aptitude)

Salary: $22-$28 per hour (depending on experience)

We are looking for a reliable and mechanically inclined Skilled Shop Laborer to join our team in Leduc. This hands-on role involves supporting daily shop operations, performing basic maintenance and repairs on shop equipment, and ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist machine operators with day-to-day tasks
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on shop equipment, including forklifts, air compressors, and CNC machines
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe
- Maintain accurate shipping/receiving records
- Perform quality control checks on parts before shipping
- Operate equipment (including forklift/loader) in a safe and efficient manner
- Assist Plasma Table and Laser Table staff
- Help maintain inventory of stock parts
- Maintain shop tools and equipment in good working condition
Requirements:
- Shipping and receiving experience
- Forklift experience and ability to operate safely
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic repairs on shop equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Good work ethic and ability to work well in a team
Assets (considered a plus):
- Bandsaw experience
- Plasma table or welding experience
- Angle grinder experience
- Drill press experience
- Experience reading measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
