As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) on the Acute at Home (A@H) team you will provide community based mental health assessment and risk assessment to children and adolescents suffering from complex mental health conditions. Children and adolescents referred to the program typically have been seen and discharged from the Emergency Department at Alberta Children’s Hospital or the CAAMHPP inpatient units. The RN/RPN works is expected to work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team as well as community agencies utilizing a patient- and family-centered approach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: mental status assessment and safety planning, treatment planning and referrals, family consultation, case conferences, and participation in program development and evaluation as needed.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
RPN's must have active or is eligible for a practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA) Minimum of 4 years experience in acute care mental health with preference given to persons who have previously worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Experience with completing MSE and risk assessments Strong communication & interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with teams, services, and external agencies Proven ability to work independently

Previous experience in a community mental health outreach setting Mental Health Certification is preferred (CMHPN) Brain Story Certification
