Quality Assurance Analyst

Your Role:
Reporting to the Software Architect in the Power Systems Technology Centre Business Unit, you will be responsible for testing all new software features, maintaining the CI/CD pipeline with respect to testing, and ensuring quality of software products being released. The incumbent will assist in supporting automated software testing frameworks for the products released by the Power Systems Technology Centre (PTC), a department of Manitoba Hydro International Ltd. (MHI).
Specific responsibilities include:
- Finding reproduceable steps for bugs reported by internal and external users.
- Testing new features for correctness and robustness.
- Maintaining the testing frameworks used for the CI/CD Pipeline.
- Creating testing script (primarily in Python) for reproducing bugs.
- Creating new testing scripts for new features to add to the CI/CD pipeline.
- Validating bug fixes by the Software Team adequately fix the reported bugs.
- Writing documentation for bug reports and bug fixes required for compliance with testing standards.
- Ensuring appropriate unit tests are written with bug fixes.
About You:
- A minimum two-year diploma in a related discipline from an accredited technology college, with a minimum of three years’ experience.
- Reasonable proficiency in Python.
- Reasonable proficiency in Windows Desktop Environment.
- Reasonable proficiency in C++, C#, Fortran 90 and 95, and Windows Batch files is considered an asset.
- Reasonable proficiency in PHP, SQL, JavaScript is considered an asset.
- Experience with GIT CI/CD pipelines is an asset.
- Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Be capable of working closely with the Simulation Specialists to create new designs and implementation for advancing existing simulation technologies as well as introduce new ones.
- Must be innovative and capable of adapting to rapidly evolving conditions.
- Must possess a valid Manitoba driver’s license and current passport. Incumbent may be required to travel both domestic and international for short durations for related industry training, meetings, and conferences.

Hours Worked: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (8 hours/day on a 9-day bi-weekly cycle)
Hybrid Schedule: Mondays and Wednesday option to work remotely
Compensation: $65,916.11 - $91,170.58 (Salary will be determined based on relevant years of experience, education, and qualifications.)
