Upper Madison College (UMC) is currently seeking a qualified and passionate instructor for our Japanese/English Translation Skills Program. This specialized program is designed to support students in developing practical translation, interpretation, and advanced English communication skills for academic, professional, and real-world contexts.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and interactive instruction focused on translation accuracy, vocabulary development, cultural nuance, grammar refinement, and effective English expression. The instructor will work closely with students to strengthen their ability to translate Japanese texts into clear, natural, and contextually appropriate English.
This role is ideal for educators with strong bilingual proficiency, ESL teaching experience, and a deep understanding of cross-cultural communication.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in Japanese-to-English translation skills
- Teach translation strategies for academic, conversational, business, and practical contexts
- Support students in improving grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and fluency in English
- Guide students in understanding tone, register, context, and cultural nuances in translation
- Develop engaging classroom activities focused on accuracy, interpretation, and communication
- Adapt instruction to meet varying student proficiency levels and learning needs
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
