Position Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented Legal Assistant for our Commercial Real Estate Department. The successful candidate must be customer service oriented, able to work under tight deadlines and be willing to work additional hours as required.
Main Duties
· Prepare commercial real estate files from opening to reporting
· Process purchase transactions including preparation of mortgages, refinancing and supplemental documents, interim and final reports
· Process sale transactions including statements of adjustments, trust letters and documents to meeting closing date
· Maintain files, diarize critical deadlines
· Prepare client accounts and correspondence
· Communicate with realtors, financial institutions, clients and other law firms regarding all aspects of transactions
· Schedule client appointments
· Other duties as required
Skills, Experience and Requirements
· Minimum of two years of related work experience in residential or commercial conveyancing required.
· Related education would be an asset
· Experience with Unity is desirable
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
