Underground Construction Superintendent – Underground Water Management Program
Civiltek Limited is currently seeking an experienced Underground Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for an Underground Water Management Program at a mine site near Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
This is a rotational shift-work position (14-on/14-off) at a remote mine site. We are hiring candidates based in Sudbury and throughout Northern Ontario, and will consider applicants located within approximately 200 km of Kirkland Lake.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall execution of underground construction activities associated with the installation of critical water management infrastructure, including two Sturda Weirs. The Superintendent will oversee supervisors, crews, scheduling, safety performance, project coordination, and client relations to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of underground construction operations
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all project activities to ensure safe and efficient execution
- Manage Supervisors, crews, subcontractors, equipment, and project resources
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, specifications, and quality requirements
- Lead site safety initiatives and maintain compliance with all mining regulations and site procedures
- Coordinate with client representatives, engineering teams, and project management personnel
- Develop work plans, manpower forecasts, and production strategies
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when required
- Review daily reports, production metrics, and safety performance indicators
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in underground mining construction, mine services, or infrastructure projects
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, Senior Supervisor, or equivalent leadership role
- Valid Underground Ontario Common Core modules required
- Strong knowledge of underground construction methods, safety regulations, and project execution
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews and large-scale underground projects
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to work rotational shifts and travel to remote project sites
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience
- Underground water management and dewatering infrastructure
- Mine development, rehabilitation, and mine services projects
- Contract mining and construction environments
- Client-facing project leadership experience
