Position Summary:
Provides exceptional service, and quality product sales of food and beverage, up-selling items. Understand the importance of and promote the Company’s Mission, Vision & Values, concurrently completing tasks as assigned and according to Company’s policy and procedures in order to achieve organizational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and genuinely, making guests feel welcome and special. Every guest using the spa passes by this station.
- Proactively approaches guests to suggest beverages and light menu items.
- Identify guest’s food/beverage preferences and provides suggestions when guests are ordering menu items.
- Know the menu and is not afraid to seek clarification by asking their manager questions.
- Work in an organized and timely manner, ensuring the accuracy of all guest’s orders.
- Prepare and cook food items in accordance with set standards/guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, appliances and equipment.
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas.
- Remove all waste and recycling from work area and sort recycle materials appropriately throughout shift.
- Handle and store cleaning products.
- Monitor supplies and advise supervisor where food supplies or cleaning supplies are needed.
- Takes initiative to complete other duties on a continuous basis. (Example; prep, cleaning and organizing.)
- Inform co-worker/hostess as to whereabouts when away from your work station.
- Maintain a professional manner and attitude at all times during your shift with the guest’s total satisfaction always your first priority.
- Report guest feedback and comments to the appropriate manager.
- Set a fine example to fellow employees as to reliability of punctuality, attendance, grooming and dress.
- Bring any ideas to save time, effort and money or to improve efficiency or to expand the role to the attention of the Manager.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures.
- Confidential matters are discussed only with authorized personnel.
- Contribute to a discrimination free work environment.
- Assist all guests when GSR’s are not available or busy.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications/Education/Physical Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year guest service experience – sales experience an asset.
- Both Food Handlers & Smart Serve certificates must be acquired if not already possessed.
- Courses completed in the field of Hospitality an asset.
- Must possess good communication skills and have a customer friendly attitude.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule: days, evenings and week-ends.
- Punctual and committed to work schedules.
- Works in close contact with products containing seafood, shellfish and nuts e.g. peanuts.
- Works within a building where the oils are infused into the air (to stimulate senses pertaining to a delightful spa experience).
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be acclimatized to the noise level and temperature fluctuations of a commercial kitchen.
- Most of the time requires near vision (attention to detail when preparing, cutting, operating machinery/equipment).
- Continuously stands for prolonged periods of time (ability to stand for 5 hours intervals as an average shift lasts 10 hours).
- Continuous limb coordination.
- Hazards – Equipment, machinery tools, fire, steam, hot surfaces, slippery surfaces.
- Discomforts - temperature fluctuations.
Pay: Up to $17.60 per hour
